5 Bookish Facts About Me
So. I'm going to talk about myself.
Selfish bastard? Yes.
Nah. Just crazy.
I've decided to be a complete bore and share 5 bookish facts about me. Sound like fun? Yeh, sure. SURE.
Bookish Fact #1
My first true book love was Wuthering Heights. Yes. You heard me right. Wuthering Heights.
I dig all that classic shit. Pride and Prejudice, The Wizard of Oz, The Great Gatsby (we'll get to that in a second), and so forth and so forth - that's not a book title, but, whatever.
One day, as a kid - I'm not joking - I grabbed Wuthering Heights off of my mom's bookshelf. And then, the love affair began.
I adore the tragedy of it, the heartbreak, and all of the characters. It was the first book that made me realize, damn, we don't always get to be with the one we love.
It broke my damn, kid heart.
Bookish Fact #2
The Great Gatsby was the first book that made me cry.
Don't even get me started on this. Jay Gatsby did everything, every damn thing, for a woman that didn't give a crud about him in the end. And the movie adaptation hurt. In a beautiful way, of course.
And when Jay died, a part of me died too. Bit dramatic, but, hey all readers lives are dramatic. We live way too many of them.
And my disgust towards Daisy...
Bookish Fact #3
I don't like Edgar Allen Poe. I feel like I should apologize for this. Mostly because Edgar Allen Poe is a big deal where I'm from. But I was never into it. Just not my cup of tea, and I don't really have an explanation for it.
Bookish Fact #4
If I'm at a book store, the way I decide to buy a book is by opening it up directly in the middle and reading a few lines. My thought process is if there's nothing awesome going on in the middle, it's really not worth it to me. Weird, yes. But it works for me.
Bookish Fact #5
I read while listening to music. Mostly instrumental, classical, or music scores. It get's me all excited.
