Fall And Winter Book Releases I'm Excited For!
I plan to buy more books.
Yes. It's. An. Addiction.
No. I'm not crazy.
Hah, suckers.
But seriously though - wait, did I miss something?
Right.
Hey, how's it going reader nerds?
How was your weekend? Mine was great. Mine was great. I'm way too repetitive. Apologies. Did I mention I'm crazy? Nope. Just rambling. 😏
I don't know about everyone else, but I get pretty stoked for all the new books that are released in the fall and winter months. EVERYTHING IMPORTANT ABOUT EVERYTHING IS BEING RELEASED. EVERYTHING.
And just to make it clear, here's a list of my most anticipated fall and winter releases. COUNTDOWN INITIATED. It's not a countdown, Liz. Calm down. Also, these are in no particular ranking order, just so ya know. 😄 Disclaimers are bitches.
1. The Dazzling Heights, by Katherine McGee
This is a sequel. Don't worry, young nerdy ones, I will talk about the first book, The Thousandth Floor, in a recommended read - at least at some point. But for those of you who know nothing (OH MY GOD, JON SNOW, NOT TODAY), the first book is set in a futuristic New York City, where the main characters live in a thousand floor glittering tower high in the freaking sky. A thousand floors, ya know? Think Gossip Girl meets the future. Oh. The. Drama. Yes, dish that up for me please.
There's your tech genius, your rich ass bitch, her bitchy friend who became poor, the poor girl who dates the rich guy who actually isn't a jerk - ah, drama. In other words, I cannot wait to read the sequel at the end of August. Hopefully it lives up to the juicy beginning.
2. One Dark Throne, by Kendare Blake
There's a creepy smile forming on my face. Real creepy. Because in the first book, Three Dark Crowns, the character I wanted to prevail totally does. But in a violent, weird, psycho kind of way. 😄
If you aren't familiar with the first book, it follows three triplets who were raised separately and wield magical powers. When they reach a certain age, they have to kill one another and only one can remain. And oh was it a fun read. Also to be a recommended read on here eventually. Like, before the second book releases.
I can't wait to claw my way through the second book. The ending left me like, I need to know things that I can't know yet. And it will walk its way into my life in mid September. Yes.
3. A Poison Dark And Drowning, by Jessica Cluess
Mmm. Mmm. Mmm. I just finished reading the first book, A Shadow Bright and Burning, and damn, I loved it. I'll be another RAVE REVIEW coming from me. Soon. Very soon. The first book left me on such a high, that I'm so glad the second books release date isn't too far away (mid September).
For those of you who don't know (BYE) it follows the first female sorcerer in 400 years, Henrietta Howel. Or is she? Well, I actually know. Hah. Too bad. She and a band of other sorcerer dudes, amidst the back drop of Victorian London, train to battle these really nasty demon-like-dude-creature-things. IT'S GOOD. Promise.
4. The Crowns of Croswald, by D. E. Night
That's one ugly ass cover. Sorry.
But I'm excited to read this. It follows a girl who has magical abilities and so she goes to a magic school. Definitely HP vibes going on there. But come on, it's not like J. K. Rowling is writing anything else in the HP world anyways. 😏
5. The Book of Dust, by Philip Pullman
NO IMAGE. 😭
Yes. I will have a slice of that book since Grand Master Pullman has decided to grace us with another book. Thank you so much. I worship you.
If you aren't familiar with his prior series, His Dark Materials, you don't read, jerk. But seriously. He's the Master, or at least one of them, other than C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, and Terry Brooks - The Big Four. Yes. That's how I feel. Get over yourself.
It's going to be a three part series (thank you kind sir) and apparently it is set in the same world as His Dark Materials. It's due for release in October as well. But there's no book cover just yet. SORRY.
6. Shadowsong, by S. Jae-Jones
The first book, Wintersong, was about the Goblin King. I devoured that book in one sitting. It killed me and I loved it. Also this book doesn't get released until the end of January. So what. Still winter. And I don't need to tell you anything about this book. Just a few words. Labyrinth. Goblin King. David Bowie.
Goodbye now...
I have more anticipated releases. I definitely have more. But for the sake of not rambling on, I'm capping it at six. And also, I'm too busy thinking about the Goblin King.
Gotta Go.
Love ya like tea and cats...and the Goblin King. ✌
