My June TBR!

Hey, how's it going?

Welcome one and all to my June TBR. Oh, how fun.

I have five beautiful books I am reading in June. Of course I'll report back with a review. Of course.

Yes. In case you are wondering, I did take that picture. Not so bad, huh?

Well, before I ramble, let's dive right into the books I will be reading in June. HUZZAH.

Gathering Darkness
This is the third book in the Falling Kingdoms YA fantasy series by Morgan Rhodes. So far, the series is killing my soul. Killing it. Slowly, and deeply. I honestly had this book for awhile (a month, maybe?), but haven't read it simply because I'm afraid of the goings-on in this book. Magnus, how much are you going to kill my soul inside? HOW MUCH? Yes. I'm a fan of Magnus. Falling Kingdoms sucks you in. It's like a one day read for the bookworm just because you need to know everything. The series never stops at a point where you can just say, "hey, I'm going to go to bed now." It's more like, "hey, I'm never going to sleep again."

Magonia
I heard some rave reviews about this one. I figured, why not give it a try? I mean, other than the beautiful, stunning, shiny, angelic, killer cover - should be a good read. It follows a young girl named Aza who is sick from a lung disease. Aza sees a ship floating in the sky one day (ooooh, Peter Pan vibes). No one believes her but her friend Jason. Everyone thinks she's a crazy butt. And I mean, yeh, of course they do. But it turns out that what's floating above the clouds is real, and it's a place called Magonia. Where ships sale above the clouds to trade and to live - where a war is slowly brewing. Sounds like a gorgeous, magical story. One that I can't wait to get lost in a world created by author Maria Headley.

A Shadow Bright and Burning
A Shadow Bright and Burning, by Jessica Cluess, is a YA fantasy about a girl named Henrietta who is the first female sorcerer in ages, the prophesied chosen one who will defeat the Ancients - bloodthirsty demons who enjoy terrorizing humanity. Set in Victorian London (I'm dying), Henrietta is playing a nasty game of deception - she isn't the chosen one. I'm sorry, what? The synopsis sounds amazing, and the setting seems enchanting. I cannot wait to dive into this one.

The Warrior Heir
Better late than never. The Heir Chronicles, written by Cinda Williams Chima, is a highly praised YA fantasy. I was browsing Barnes & Nobles with some birthday moolah not too long ago, and came across this series. After reading the synopsis, I quickly stacked it onto my pile of books. Jack, a sixteen-year-old living in the Ohio town of Trinity, after not taking his medication for awhile, finds out that he is a Weirland - a magical person who lives among us. It is an underground magical society ruled by the Red Rose and White Rose houses. These two houses are always feuding with one another. There's a magical tournament to take place, and whichever house wins gets to rule the Weir. Every day I don't read this, I'm dying.

The Goddess Test
This book is blurbed by the Queen herself, Cassandra Clare. So, yes, I will read this. Written by author Aimee Carter, this book is sure to kill my soul. It follows a girl named Kate whose mother is dying. Her mother's last wish is to move back to her home town. After moving, Kate soon meets Henry, who claims to be Hades, the god of the Underworld. Let's stop right there. Yes. Yes. Yes. YES. Anyways, Henry makes a little wager with Kate - he'll keep her mother alive if she can pass seven tests. If she succeeds, her mother is saved. But she will have to become Henry's bride and a goddess. So, I want her life. Please. Now.

Those are all of the books in my June TBR. And, I know, they all sound so exciting and
wonderful. I die everyday just thinking about them.

Anyways, this Slytherin is out. Happy reading my bookish friends.
